History-The-Rebuild

THE REBUILDING OF THIS GREAT CLUB [2007-NOW]

This story is currently getting written, please come back soon to see our progress.

At the end of the a successful 2014 season for the senior men we were accepted back into the NewFM competition which is the second division for Newcastle football. This was a huge relief for the club, coaches and committee that had put so much hard work in over the previous years.

The 2015 season not only saw Wallsend FC back into the NewFM competition, we were also accepted into the Women’s Premier League (WPL) which is the top division for women’s football in Newcastle. Wallsend FC also formed a new Zone League squad to keep all the players at the senior club that helped the rebuild back into the NewFM competition. 2015 was also a fruitful year with results, our NewFM 1st grade winning the major premiership in their first year back with a 1-0 win over Valentine FC who were minor premiers, our WPL squad put in a strong showing to finish mid table and our Zone League squad finished minor premiers.

2016 saw all 3 senior squads NewFM, WPL and Zone League finish in the finals placings. Wallsend FC WPL Under 18’s won the minor premiership, our NewFM 1st grade won back to back major premierships after playing out a 0-0 draw after extra time to win 4-3 on penalties.

In 2017 we had our NewFM under 23’s win the major premiership in a tough win over long time rivals West Wallsend SFC with a 4-1 victory. Wallsend’s WPL under 14’s lost a tough battle against Adamstown Rosebuds 0-1 for the major premiership. After missing out on the major premiership the WPL under 14’s traveled to Coffs Harbour for the Telstra State SAP cup, after playing 7 matches over 3 days consisting of 5 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat, Wallsend finished 4 points clear of second place to claim the Telstra State SAP Champions for 2017.

Wallsend FC are currently building for acceptance into the NPL competition in 2020, when successful the rebuilding phase of this great club will be complete with Wallsend competing in the top divisions for both men and women in both NNSW and Newcastle Football and we can move forward into the next glory filled chapter for this great club.
